Olympia Elks Lodge #186 has been part of this capital city's fabric for generations, and you feel it the moment you walk in. The room has the easy confidence of a place that doesn't need to impress anyone. Chill atmosphere, good music, and the kind of people who actually talk to you. That's not marketing copy. That's what visitors say.

The Lodge sits at 1818 4th Ave East, a few blocks from the waterfront, and it pulls double duty as a genuine community anchor. Members gather here for fellowship and civic work, but the building also opens its doors to outside groups. BNI Olympia meets Tuesday mornings in the hall, and event hosts consistently note how well-kept and accommodating the space is. Charity fundraisers, community dinners, and member-only nights keep the calendar full year-round.

With a 4.3-star rating across nearly 80 reviews, the Lodge earns its reputation the old-fashioned way: by showing up for Olympia, decade after decade. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in 1868, and Lodge #186 carries that mission forward with programs that are, in the words of one regular, "creative and fun."

What We Offer

The Lodge offers flexible event rental for meetings, receptions, fundraisers, and private parties. The main hall is roomy, consistently clean, and equipped to handle groups of varying sizes. Recurring tenants like BNI network groups book it weekly because the setup is reliable and the staff gets out of the way and lets you work.

Beyond rentals, members enjoy access to lodge social nights, live music events, and seasonal charity drives that give back directly to the Olympia community. Member benefits through the national BPOE network include scholarship programs, Veterans outreach, and youth initiatives that have made a measurable difference in Thurston County.

Interested in membership? The process is straightforward. Prospective members are sponsored by a current Elk, and the Lodge welcomes Americans of good character who want to do more for their neighbors. If you're looking for a place to belong in Olympia, WA, this is a strong place to start.

"Very ignorant person from this organization blocking the flow of traffic. What privileged, ignorant, and self centered person would think parking right in the middle of an alley and locking their doors (after seeing a car attempting to get through) is the way to go? For over 30 minutes."

"Went to play Bingo. Had a nice time. They offer a few snacks, soda and coffee for sale. They are very good to help if you have questions. Some of the people who go could use some manners but otherwise a nice evening. I would recommend going."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
